Mad respect to XXL, I used to intern there for an entire year, now I’m a contributing writer for the magazine but I don’t give a f**k about 50 and Soulja being on the cover. 50 Cent music career been fell off, and the little that he had left, Rick Ross ended that. You see 50 is doing a lot of movies now, and is trying to get all the A-List producers and rappers on his new album, so he can try to make a comeback. Seriously, who takes Soulja Girl serious? She has always been a lame rapper. She is an example of an “industry groupie.” She let this industry make her. Soulja came out doing ABC 123 kids rap, now she’s a gangsta. Nah, that don’t add up. The unlikely friends and always-controversial artists came together for a provocative photo shoot and three-part cover story, which includes separate profiles on 50 and Soulja, followed by a Q&A roundtable discussion between the two. Over the course of the conversation, the cover stars explain their unlikely union on SB’s collabo single “Mean Mug,” their mutual respect for each other and why their social media and musical dominance continue to be a hater’s worst nightmare.
With his highly-anticipated third solo album, The DeAndre Way, on deck, SB has seen his name in the headlines and Twitter timelines for more than just music. SB on his connection to 50 Cent: “Being Black, with money, from the hood, struggles, and coming from nothing to something, of course you’re going to share the common struggles. You going to have people hate. You going to have people that change on you, and all that. So of course, watching 50, and him going through what he did—if there wasn’t no 50 Cent, there would be no Soulja Boy. You know what I mean?”
50, who has come to SB’s defense on numerous occasions and has taken on the role of mentor to the young Atlanta rapper, can relate. The on-again off-again industry outcast tells XXL Deputy Editor, Rondell Conway, “I’m more comfortable in a space where people are doubting me than when I’m the favorite. They doubted me before. Obviously, I was the only crazy person that believed in me at one point.”
About his young counterpart, Fif says, “If I had the wish to be another artist, just for right now, it would be Soulja Boy.”

Cash Money new signee Bow Wow linked up with his homie Soulja Boy for “Get Money.” I am not a fan of either artist but I’m feeling the song and video. Bow Weezy and Soulja Boy Tell Em are riding around in their carolina blue and red Lamborghini’s in Miami. The two young millionaire are rapping about their pricey flashy lifestyles in the song. Love em or hate em, Bow and Soulja are two young millionaire who has a lot to brag about. I like the part of the video when they pulled up in the drive thur in their Lambos. In an interview with Vibe.com rapper Soulja Boy talked about playing Tupac in the remake of Juice and offers from Cash Money. It is rumored that Cam’ron reached out to Soulja Boy to be in Juice. Also, Soulja Boy talked about wanting to work with Lil Wayne on his new mixtape. Read some excerpts from Soulja Boy interview with Vibe below:
VIBE: Can you tell us a little bit about the story line for Juice?
SB: Basically, it’s your boy Soulja and I’m Bishop in 2011, running around in the streets, man. You know how the movie goes, but we’re flipping it and shooting in Atlanta. I want to show these people my acting side and me being creative—always giving them something new; that’s all. I got same video director that shot “Crank That,” “Kiss Me Through The Phone,” “Turn My Swag On” —my most successful videos. The whole mixtape is the soundtrack for the movie.

Was there anyone you wished you could have worked with?
If I could get anybody, I would have probably put Lil Wayne on my mixtape. Me and Wayne, man.
Have you had the chance to talk to Weezy, since he came home?
I talk to him, but I’m cool with Birdman. When I’m in Miami I be with Birdman. He’s trying to get me to come over to Cash Money. I’m cool with Birdman. I feel like if I drop my mixtape and get Wayne on it, I’d really have the juice then[Laughs].
So is going to Cash Money actually a real possibility?
It is a possibility. When I was down in Miami for a couple of weeks recording with Sean Kingston, Birdman reached out to me. He said ‘come and have a meeting with me’ and he told me ‘yo man you’d go perfect with everything we got going on. Whatever you want. I want to bring you over to this family, bring you to Cash Money.’
If you’re looking for Soulja Boy, he’s probably on the block or in the club “Too Juiced Up.” The track is off his latest mixtape Juice. The video features a cameo from Atlanta’s femcee Diamond, who is rumored to be dating Soula Boy.

Earlier in the month, I reported that rapper Soulja Boy has an offer from Cash Money Records on the table. He recently met with Birdman in Miami, to talk about joining the prominent Hip-Hop label. In an interview with Rap-Up.com, Soulja Boy said, “He’s trying to get me to come over to Cash Money.” Right now, Soulja Boy is still under a contractually agreement with his label Interscope records. He has two more albums to complete before he can make a move to another label. “I still got paperwork with Interscope Records, so I’m just trying to figure out what I’ma do. I got a lot of great options on the table,” he adds. “I’ve been a fan of Cash Money since I was young. I’ve been listening to Birdman’s music since I was growing up. I would have never thought.”
Soulja Boy is taking the offer from Birdman into consideration: “I’m taking it into consideration. Birdman, we really had a good talk when we met. But I’m still young. I’m only 20 years old. So after I do these two albums, I either have the choice to go back to Interscope and re-up, do my contract over, or I can go down to Miami with Cash Money.”

While myself and millions of other people are stuck in New Jersey and New York trying to recover from Hurricane Sandy, the other day, rappers Chief Keef and Soulja Boy were on the California coast riding a Bentley and Ferrari. Soulja paired an all-white ensemble with $995 Giuseppe Zanotti Men’s Plated High-Top Sneakers.
